This was a tricky episode for me to create because I don’t want to pretend that I am an expert on sexuality, but I also don’t want to say something that’s not right. Please refer to other experts about the topic of sexuality, especially if you’re interested in a deeper dive into the topic. I also felt like I left a lot out of this podcast that I wanted to put in, but hopefully I’ll make up for it in later episodes.

In this episode, I provide a definition for gender and for sexuality and explain how they are not the same thing. I also cover [some of] the different ways in which you can feel a gender other than your own. Ultimately, you need to decide if the way you feel is enough to live your life as a certain gender.

–I didn’t cover this in the podcast, but I think it’s important to recognize that even talking about this topic is confusing for a trans person, because there are things we have to choose in order to live authentically, and there are things that we have no choice over. How you feel, you don’t have a choice over, how you react, you do have control over. Reacting in a way that doesn’t resolve how you feel can cause you emotional and neurological damage, and as trans people, we have to address the way we feel, even if we decide not to transition.

    Hi,
I made this quick introduction after recording a couple of the first episodes. I wanted to make sure there was something that said a little bit about me and why I started this podcast–even though the details are limited because I’m trying to remain anonymous.

    Summary:

This podcast will cover a plethora of topics related to trans women that we don’t often share, even to people who we are close to. The hope is that by understanding these things about trans women, society as a whole will be more empathetic and accepting of us. I hope you’ll continue listening!
